I originally trained as a theatrical costume designer in Bournemouth art college where I especially enjoyed costume illustration. After leaving college, I started working as a teacher's aide and found that I enjoyed drawing for children. I completed an illustration course in 1999 and since then I have worked as a freelance artist while continuing my work with children as a play-worker. I love reading as well as drawing, and read avidly as a child.
I have been painting since I left school in 1990, and I have had several pieces of my work exhibited in recent years. I have been illustrating professionally for just over a year. Since 1999 I have been commissioned to paint a 'time-line' mural, depicting history through the years for a primary school. I have illustrated a poem and two stories for Anglia education and I am also working on another one at the moment. I love illustrating for Children as I believe there is something magical about children's books.
